San Clemente Beach house (10)
The original soft contemporary beach house was built in the 70's. The old cabinets were tired and the tiles on the counters and back splash were outdated. To lighten the kitchen and contrast the rough sawn original ceilings and walls we added white crisp cabinets with very clean lines. The Seafoam green granite counters were chosen to match the the color of the panoramic ocean views. The backsplash boarder was inlayed with limestone in a coral and sand dollar pattern. The small subway quartz tile has iridescent shades of white mimicking the inside of mother of pearl shells. The Professional appliances and numerous work stations make this kitchen a place for the whole family to gather and entertain. A full bar with two wine coolers and bar refrigerator, complete with ice maker, was built into an existing niche. Everywhere in this wide open home are reminders of the close by sea. -
Country French-Reno, NV (interior) (33)
Old World styled cabinets were designed with the look of time worn antiques adding to the illusion that the home evolved over time. Along with the main kitchen, the home has a mini kitchen adjoining two guest rooms for those late night snacks and a third kitchen in the full guest suite. A wonderful old bar was incorporated into the new cabinetry in the media center to create an old world pub. An antique clock face was bricked into the wall of the great room with pillars of brick on either side to support the 5 foot tall antique corbels. Matching brick was used to build the brick and slate fireplace. The fireplace in the living room and master bedroom are hand carved limestone. The style is reminiscent of French Chateaus. The master bath with its French mosaic floor, marble shower and counters, truly whisper luxury. The laundry room with its fine furniture like cabinets and antique pastry table recreates the look of an old scullery. -

Asian Fusion - Corona del Mar, CA. (10)
The inspiration for this remodel came from a trip to Hawaii’s Kona coast. After experiencing the aloha life style the owners wanted to bring that feeling home. The ceilings were raised and the walls removed to open up the floor plan. Walls of glass were added in the back of the home to invite in the ocean views. A slate water feature added to the front entry greets you with the sound of water, setting the soothing mood for the rest of the home. The smooth lines of the cabinetry and the stainless steal appliances, mixed with the natural materials used, such as slate, mahogany, copper, and granite give the home an earthy yet sleek ambiance. -
Country Kitchen - Turtle Ridge, CA. (7)
This small kitchen was tucked away, leaving the cook feeling isolated from her family and guests. The layout was poor, making it a one person kitchen. By removing the wall between the family room and kitchen and stealing some space from the awkward hallway, we were able to create an open floor plan that makes this kitchen center stage. There are many work stations, making it the perfect space for more than one cooks. The white crisp cabinets and tile contrast with the dark wood floors and honed black absolute granite. There is a built in chopping block next to the sink, a double drawer dishwasher and large walk in pantry. The large center island, with its wine storage and seating area make this the perfect place for everyone to gather. -

English Kitchen - Redlands, CA (10)
This manor house built around 1910 is nestled on a tree line street in the oldest part of Redlands CA. The kitchen had been updated in the 70’s and was very tired. The room was very large, but the old kitchen didn’t make the best use of the space. There was also a back porch which was opened to the new kitchen. This made room for pantry and the subzero refrigerator. The owners wanted the kitchen to have an English feel that reflected the stateliness of this grand old estate home. They wanted the custom cabinets to have the look of fine furniture and to include a built-in buffet. The result was a formal room , that is also a hard working, functional kitchen. -
European Kitchen - Southern CA. (8)
The owners of this home had a collection of antique furniture they wanted incorporated into the new kitchen design. They wanted a true European kitchen where the cabinets are unfitted, more like separate pieces of furniture. Also the owners wanted the rock used through out the house brought into the kitchen design to give it a rustic feel. We created niches in one wall out of the stone to display two of the prized antiques. The refrigerator and freezer were built into a free standing armoire. The large hearth style hood was covered in French limestone to match the antiqued limestone counters and to house the blue porcelain and copper French Range . The island counter was made from beautiful walnut. Antique doors adorn the walk-in pantry. More refrigeration and freezer space are hidden behind drawers by the sink. -

Mediterranean-Newport Beach (8)
This old world Mediterranean style home sits almost on the tip of the Newport Beach Peninsula. With the bay on one side and the beach on the other it is the perfect location for a young active family. But the interiors were cut up and dark. The kitchen was narrow, only eight feet across. By taking out a wall between the hall and the kitchen, and making a large arched opening in the dining room we created an open floor plan that flows nicely from room to room. Kitchen cabinets were designed to look like furniture. The built-in buffet that matches the kitchen's warn hand distressed cabinets was added to the dining room to give the owner more storage and to further unify the space. The mediterranean style limestone hood features hand painted tiles done by a local artist. The counters are a mix of granite with limestone boarders, further enhancing the old world look. -
Victorian Kitchen-Redlands, CA (8)
On a quiet street in Redlands sits a beautiful old Victorian cottage. The owners have painstakingly restored this beauty to its original splendor. From restoring the old front porch, to replacing the gingerbread trim that had been removed by previous owners they have been true to the look of the period. With this same goal we tackled the kitchen that had been remodeled in the 40's. They didn't want to move any walls or change the foot print of the original house. But the kitchen was very small. After doing some investigating we found that the hall closet and a small storage area had been part of the kitchen at one time. We opened them up and achieved the extra space we needed. The two walk in pantries on either side of the dining room's etched glass door were replaced with the beautiful green built-in servers, complete with library ladder to reach the uppermost shelves. the Viking range was custom painted to match the cream cabinets. Prized hand made tiles brought back form France by the owner's mother were incorporated into the back splash of hand made tiles made by a local artist. The dark island with it's limestone counter, matches the adjacent wall where the refrigerator and pantry are hidden by two armoires. This Kitchen is reminiscent of the victorian age.
